Job summary

Tommy Car Wash Systems is seeking a Building Design Engineer to develop AE prototype car wash designs, create shop drawings and assembly models, and coordinate with the Project Development Team to refine building systems through each model release.

You will use Revit or Inventor, support pre-construction PMs, and prepare material schedules while evaluating product specs for optimal cost and performance. Growth opportunities exist in a fast‑moving, team‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or equivalent formal training/certifications.
• 2+ years’ experience using Autodesk Revit or similar on AE projects.
• Experience with commercial metal building systems.
• Experience with BIM & prefabrication for construction a plus.
• Experience with greenhouse, glasshouse, natatoriums, outdoor shelters, SIPs, fenestration/glazing, aluminum prefabricated structures a plus.
• Experience with Autodesk AI design connectors/workflows a plus.
• Experience with commercial MEP systems a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Process-oriented and collaborative with ability to communicate across departments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing AE prototype building designs and model year releases.
• Create design change bulletins for AE updates between model years.
• Develop shop drawings and assembly modeling/detailing for building material systems using Revit or Inventor.
• Provide technical building design support to Project Development Team.
• Prepare material schedules and detailed bills of materials for procurement and manufacturing.
• Study building product specs and apply optimal products to designs.
• Vet building material products & suppliers for cost and function.
• Communicate with internal departments both verbally and in writing.
• Work within a team environment including management, sales and manufacturing.
• Perform other duties as assigned; changes may occur.
