Job summary

Layton Construction in Houston is seeking a VDC BIM Manager to lead virtual design and construction initiatives on our on-site projects. You will coordinate BIM models for architectural, structural, and MEP systems, ensuring alignment with project standards and timelines.

Responsibilities include managing model workflows, facilitating clash detection meetings, and collaborating with project managers, field teams, and trade partners to optimize project delivery through digital coordination.

Qualifications

• PM skills including planning, scheduling, coordination, and stakeholder communication.
• Expeditor skills to manage submittals, RFIs, and flow of materials/infos.
• Inspection skills to verify model accuracy and review drawings.
• Logistics management to support site planning and BIM/VDC workflows.
• Proficiency with BIM/VDC tools (Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360/ACC, Synchro).
• Experience in commercial construction with coordination of A/E/M systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration with field teams and trade partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead VDC and BIM efforts across projects, ensuring model accuracy and standards.
• Oversee model workflows and coordinate clash detection and resolution meetings.
• Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and trade partners on digital coordination.
• Develop and implement VDC/BIM execution plans and train team members.
• Ensure modeling supports scheduling, logistics, and quality control.
• Continuously improve VDC workflows and document best practices.
