Job summary

Johnston-Willis Hospital is seeking a Vascular Technologist to support diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Cath Lab. The role includes scrub tech, circulator, and monitor duties, assisting physicians with cardiac catheterization, patient transport, and ensuring equipment readiness.

Eligible candidates should have BLS, a high school diploma or GED, an Associate Degree, and must obtain RVS or RVT within 1 year of start date. Excellent benefits are offered.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as scrub tech, circulator, and monitor for diagnostic and interventional procedures
  • Assists physician with cardiac catheterization procedures and contributes to cardiac diagnosis
  • Restocks and cleans work area to promote patient safety
  • Responsible for all phases of the Digital Imaging system; PACS
  • Transports and assists with setup and preparation of patients
  • Acts as liaison for electrophysiology lab to promote relationships
  • Communicates information to patient and health care team
  • Takes call per hospital policy

Job Summary And Qualifications
  • Functions in the capacity of scrub tech, circulator, and monitor person for diagnostic and interventional procedures and cares for patients post procedure with an RN or LPN.
  • Assists physician with cardiac catheterization procedures and contributes to cardiac diagnosis.
  • Restocks and cleans work area to promote patient safety.
  • Responsible for all phases of the Digital Imaging system ; PACS
  • Transports and assists with the setup preparation of patients.
  • Actively supports team as participant to turn over procedure room in a timely manner.
  • Actively participates in continuing education.
  • Serves as a liaison for the electrophysiology lab to promote physician, interdepartmental and intradepartmental relationships.
  • Utilizes equipment and performs special procedures competently as related to the Cath Lab Scope of Care.
  • Efficiently communicates verbal and written information, instruction or education to the patient, family members and other members of the health care team as appropriate.
  • Takes call as needed per hospital policy.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • High School Graduate / GED
  • Associate Degree
  • (RVS) Registered Vascular Specialist, or (RVT) Registered Vascular Technician must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
