Job summary

CJW Medical Center in Richmond, VA invites a Radiology Technologist to join our imaging team. You will perform radiographs with high quality and safety, including portable exams, while contributing to patient care and workflow efficiency.

Required ARRT-R certification and BLS/CPR within 30 days. The role emphasizes accurate imaging, PACS/Meditech usage, and professional collaboration with radiologists and staff.

Qualifications

  • ARRT-R Radiography certification required or in progress.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/CPR) within 30 days of start date.
  • Vocational School graduate in radiologic technology or related program.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains quality radiographs of patients with standard and portable equipment.
  • Adheres to radiation safety guidelines for patient and staff; uses PPE.
  • Operates radiographic equipment safely and competently and verifies orders in PACS/Meditech.
  • Maintains clean, stocked exam rooms and prepares areas for procedures.
  • Assists radiologist with medications, contrast, and patient care as needed.
  • Verifies exam accuracy, annotations, and proper charging in system.

Hourly Wage Estimate: $30.64 - $42.90 / hour

Job Summary And Qualifications


  • Obtains quality radiographs of patients within the department as well as with portable equipment in an acceptable timeframe.

  • Complies with radiation safety guidelines for patient and self. Utilizes Personal Protective Equipment. Operates radiographic equipment safely and competently.

  • Demonstrates the ability to perform all necessary computer operations (i.e. Meditech and PACS). Ensure proper charges are entered and referring physician’s orders are verified.

  • Renders patient care in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Prepares examination rooms for radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. Monitors inventory of supplies during room rotation. Maintain room cleanliness and neat appearance of work areas and dressing rooms.

  • Assists the radiologist in administering medications, contrast agents and all types of care to the patient.

  • Reviews each exam for technical accuracy (i.e. markers on images, technical quality, anatomical positioning, annotation, etc.) and completes verification process in PACS.

  • Assists Diagnostic Supervisor with PACS clean up. i.e.: Clean CR plates, erase cassettes, close and send exams from workstations, etc.

  • Completes and maintains personal educational requirements.

  • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patient information according to Policy and Procedure.


What qualifications you will need:


  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

  • (ARRT-R) Radiography

  • Vocational School Graduate
