Job summary

HCA Healthcare is looking for a Vascular Technologist to join the HCA Florida Heart Institute. In this role, you will perform vascular ultrasonic procedures, ensuring patient cooperation and conducting evaluations.

Qualifications

Overview

Responsibilities

• Perform vascular ultrasonic procedures as directed by physicians.
• Perform non-invasive hemodynamic evaluations and write test results.
• Schedule patients for procedures.
• Explain procedures to patients to ensure cooperation and optimum test results.
• Position patients and select the appropriate transducer.
• Conduct scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment by moving the scanner over the body area and adjusting equipment to focus.
• Ensure examinations are performed properly and in a timely manner.
• Takes patient history and retrieves previous files.
• Coordinate patient flow and check daily lists to ensure all exams are complete.
• Maintain equipment and order/stock supplies.
• Maintain department records, reports and files.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Read, understand and adhere to all Physician Services policies and procedures.
• Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Values statements.

Qualifications

• Education: No education requirements.
• Experience: Minimum one year experience as an ultrasound tech / sonographer.
• Certification / License: Must hold one or more of the following credentials: Registered Vascular Tech, Registered Cardiac Sonographer OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in accordance with state regulation and clinical specialty. Must have certification through ARDMS or ARRT.
