Job summary

Ascension seeks a Vascular Sonographer for Seton Medical Center-Williamson in Round Rock, TX. This full-time evening shift runs Monday–Thursday, 3:30pm–1am in the Ultrasound Department.

You will perform high-quality vascular diagnostic procedures, evaluate patient history to select tests, ensure patient safety, document findings, and transmit images to PACS to support EHR workflow.

Qualifications

  • BLS provider within 30 days of hire date or transfer date (AHA or ARC accepted).
  • One of: Cardiovascular Credentialing International vascular interpretation credential, ARRT radiologic technologist (sonography), or ARDMS vascular sonography credentialed before hire.
  • Education: high school diploma with 2 years of cumulative experience or an Associate/Technical degree or 4 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality vascular diagnostic procedures to detect vascular diseases and support patient care outcomes.
  • Evaluate clinical history to select effective diagnostic tests within regulatory and compliance guidelines.
  • Monitor patient comfort and safety during procedures and alert the team to abnormalities.
  • Document findings accurately and transmit high-quality images to PACS to support EHR management.
  • Maintain equipment and supply inventory to ensure smooth ultrasound service delivery.

How you’ll make an impact in this role
  • Perform high-quality vascular diagnostic procedures as a Vascular Sonographer to detect peripheral vascular disease and optimize patient care outcomes.
  • Evaluate patient clinical history to select the most effective diagnostic procedures within standard regulatory and compliance guidelines.
  • Monitor patient comfort and safety during direct patient care, promptly alerting the interdisciplinary team to critical diagnostic abnormalities.
  • Complete accurate clinical documentation and send high-quality images to PACS to support efficient Electronic Health Records management.
  • Maintain medical equipment and clinical supply inventory to ensure an orderly department and seamless vascular ultrasound service delivery.
What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Cardiographic Tech specializing in Vascular Interpretation credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Sonography Tech specializing in Vascular Sonography credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
    degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
What additional preferences we're seeking
  • Abdominal and OB/GYN credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • 1 year of Vascular Sonography and General Ultrasound experience in a hospital setting
