A healthcare staffing company is seeking a Vascular Technologist for a full-time position in Round Rock, Texas. Candidates must possess BLS certification and relevant medical credentials such as a Cardiographic Tech or Sonography Tech qualification, along with a high school diploma or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

  • Licensure as a BLS Provider required within 30 days of hire.
  • Cardiographic Tech or Sonography Tech credentials required.
  • Education must meet specified cumulative experience criteria.

Responsibilities

  • Perform vascular diagnostic procedures to detect peripheral vascular disease.
  • Monitor patient comfort and safety during tests.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Maintain equipment and supplies; report deficiencies and ensure proper working condition.
  • Position patients and set technical parameters accurately.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
  • Submit high-quality images and documentation to PACS with correct markers.
  • Assist in keeping department clean and organized.

Job description

Overview

Be among the first 25 applicants. Hospital: Seton Medical Center-Williamson. Location: Round Rock, Texas.

Responsibilities
  • Perform vascular diagnostic procedures to detect peripheral vascular disease or obstructions.
  • Evaluate patient for presence of peripheral vascular disease by selecting most effective procedures within regulatory and compliance guidelines.
  • Perform appropriate diagnostic procedures, record patient test results and report results.
  • Monitor patient comfort and safety during tests, alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in patient responses.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and verify all equipment is in proper working condition; report deficiencies and failures.
  • Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documentation sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms and related spaces.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
  • Cardiographic Tech specializing in Vascular Interpretation credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Sonography Tech specializing in Vascular Sonography credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
