Job summary

Ascension Health in Baltimore, MD seeks a Vascular Sonographer to perform peripheral vascular diagnostics in the St. Agnes Healthcare lab. You will conduct exams, ensure patient safety, and document findings for PACS with precision.

Required ARDMS/CCI credentials and Maryland radiology licensure if applicable, with BLS within 30 days. The role offers full-time hours in rotating shifts and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

  • BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire/date required.
  • ARDMS/CCI credentials required prior to hire.
  • Vascular ultrasound credentialing preferred.
  • Maryland radiology licensure required if radiography is applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients for peripheral vascular disease with accurate diagnostics.
  • Ensure proper patient positioning, safety, and parameter selection.
  • Deliver high-quality imaging and complete clinical histories to PACS.
  • Maintain equipment readiness and regulatory compliance in the lab.

How you’ll make an impact in this role
  • Vascular Disease Detection: Expertly evaluates patients for peripheral vascular disease by selecting and performing the most effective diagnostic procedures within strict regulatory guidelines.
  • Clinical Precision & Safety: Ensures accurate patient positioning and parameter selection while vigilantly monitoring patient stability and alerting physicians to critical abnormalities.
  • Data Integrity & PACS Workflow: Delivers high-quality imaging and comprehensive clinical histories to PACS, maintaining meticulous standards for lead markers and diagnostic documentation.
  • Technical & Environmental Oversight: Manages equipment health and department readiness, ensuring all diagnostic tools are functional and procedural areas meet rigorous compliance standards.
What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
  • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography(ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) also accepted.
  • Sonography Tech specializing in Vascular Sonography credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Any specialty accepted.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. State Radiology Technologist licensure issued by Maryland Board of Physicians required.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
