Job summary

Piedmont Heart Institute Physicians in Augusta, GA, is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the Vascular Surgery team. This position supports inpatient vascular service, with inpatient rounding and first assistance in the OR, and occasional crossover to the clinic.

The role offers the opportunity to work with leading cardiology specialists and comprehensive cardiovascular services. GA licensure as PA or NP and vascular/cardiovascular experience preferred.

Qualifications

• GA license as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse is required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients and performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physicians.
• Takes patient histories and conducts physical exams, writes progress notes and summaries.
• Orders and schedules laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures and explains them to patients.
• Monitors patient progress and consults with supervising physicians as needed.
• Provide inpatient vascular service coverage and assist in the OR; some clinic crossover may occur.
