Job summary

Piedmont Augusta Hospital seeks a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to support the inpatient Vascular Service, with rounding and first assisting in the OR. Occasional clinic crossover may occur.

You will join a leading cardiology program, collaborating with highly trained physicians across cardiovascular services including electrophysiology, transplant, and interventional surgery. Under Piedmont Heart Institute, expect a comprehensive benefits package and strong professional growth.

Qualifications

• PA: Graduate of a Physician Assistant program with current license for the Georgia State Composite Board.
• NP: Graduate from a school of nursing with current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Master's degree in Nursing.
• Preferred: vascular, cardiovascular or general surgery experience.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients and performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physicians.
• Takes histories, conducts exams, writes progress notes, and develops therapeutic relationships with patients.
• Orders and schedules labs and diagnostic procedures; explains procedures to patients and families.
• Monitors patient progress and communicates with supervising physicians when progress is not meeting criteria.
• Autonomous AP provider responsible for vascular inpatient care and clinic coverage; assists in the OR as needed.
