Job summary

Penn State Health Milton Hershey Medical Center is seeking a Vascular Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP/PA) to deliver comprehensive clinical care to vascular surgery patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The APP will rotate between inpatient coverage and outpatient clinic duties on a monthly schedule.

Responsibilities include consultations, daily patient management, discharge planning, and longitudinal follow-up, with no operative time required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and PA-C certification/licensure eligibility.
• Current or eligible state licensure and national certification for the APP role.
• ACLS and BLS certification.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and care coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient vascular surgery coverage, evaluating and managing new and established patients.
• Respond to and manage vascular surgery consultations with the team.
• Perform daily patient assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and coordinate ongoing care.
• Facilitate hospital discharges with medication reconciliation and education.
• Provide outpatient vascular surgery clinic coverage with evaluation, follow-up, and management.
• Collaborate with vascular surgeons, APPs, nursing, and other team members.
• Communicate findings and plans to patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Participate in care coordination and transitions across inpatient and outpatient settings.
