Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for the Vascular Stepdown Intermediate Care Unit (9 Kaufman) in Norfolk, VA. This 36-hour/week role covers night shifts 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

on a Magnet hospital with a focus on vascular surgery, telemetry, and transplant care. You will join a collaborative team providing specialized care, mentorship, and opportunities for PCCN certification while supporting high-acuity patients in a 24-bed unit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or MSN preferred.
• Registered Nurse license required (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• ONS/ONCC certification or Sentara-approved Chemotherapy/ Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety and quality initiatives on the unit.
• Direct and mentor nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Provide high-acuity vascular/telemetry care and participate in transplant-related care.
• Collaborate with transplant program and outpatient center to support patients through treatment stages.
