Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA, seeks a Nurse (RN) Unit Coordinator for the Step-Down Unit. This full-time, weekend-day shift offers a sign-on bonus up to $15,000 and relocation packages for qualified candidates.

The unit focuses on cardiac, renal, vascular, and pulmonary care with opportunities to advance toward ICU or ED tracks. Minimum 18 months nursing experience is required; BSN is required with master’s preferred if the graduate degree is not in nursing.

Qualifications

• 18 months nursing experience required.
• BSN degree required; master’s preferred if not in nursing, BSN still required.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Virginia RN License required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership in the department.
• Leads safety initiatives, improves workflow, and supports staff development.
