Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring full-time Registered Nurses for the Vascular Stepdown Intermediate Care Unit (9K). This 24-bed unit focuses on vascular procedures and transplant support. Shifts are day or night, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.

or 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m., with every other weekend and holiday rotation. Qualified candidates may receive a sign-on bonus up to $7,500 and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing required.
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• Students completing an accredited nursing program may be considered.
• Unit welcomes new graduate nurses and experienced nurses moving into this specialty.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
• Prior RN experience preferred.
• Intermediate Care / Stepdown experience preferred.
• Strong candidates with related acute care, intermediate care, cardiac, stroke, or med/surg experience are encouraged to apply.
• New graduate RNs or experienced RNs with no acute care experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Care for vascular patients in a 24-bed stepdown intermediate care unit.
• Provide telemetry monitoring and support post-surgical vascular procedures.
• Collaborate with transplant outpatient center to support patients through critical stages of care.
