Job summary

Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center is seeking a vascular sonography professional to perform ultrasound testing in accordance with vascular laboratory protocols. You will verify orders, review records, and document findings, ensuring patient comfort and accurate reporting.

New graduates must obtain RVT or RVS credentials within one year of hire, and BLS certification is required. Expect to enter data into the EMR and maintain equipment according to guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must have a CAAHEP vascular sonography program or equivalent experience.
• New graduates must obtain RVT or RVS credential within one year of hire.
• BLS certification required.
• Competencies include ABI, arterial Doppler, carotid, aortic, venous mapping, Exercise ABI, DVT assessment.

Responsibilities

• Verify physician orders and review patient records prior to exam.
• Perform basic vascular ultrasound testing per protocols and ensure patient comfort.
• Recognize and document abnormal pathologies to support diagnosis.
• Provide physician with detailed preliminary report.
• Enter measurements and final report into the cardiovascular reporting system.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned and functioning per manufacturer guidelines.
• Enter charges into the electronic medical record.
