Job summary

Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center seeks a vascular sonographer to perform basic vascular ultrasound tests following accredited protocols, verify orders, and ensure patient comfort. The role requires RVT/RVS credentials or equivalent experience and BLS certification.

New grads must obtain RVT or RVS within a year. You will document findings, enter data into the cardiovascular reporting system, maintain equipment, and support diagnosis with detailed preliminary reports.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CAAHEP vascular sonography program or comparable experience with RVT/RVS credentials.
• New graduates must obtain RVT or RVS credential within one year of hire.
• BLS certification required.
• Competencies in: ABI, arterial Doppler, carotid, aortic, saphenous vein mapping, Exercise ABI, DVT assessment.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician's orders and reviews patient record prior to exam.
• Performs basic vascular ultrasound testing according to protocol.
• Recognizes and documents abnormal pathologies to support diagnosis.
• Provides physician detailed preliminary report.
• Enters measurement data and final report into cardiovascular reporting system.
• Ensures equipment is cleaned and functioning per manufacturer's guidelines.
• Enters charges into electronic medical record.
