Job summary

Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center is seeking a qualified vascular sonography professional to perform basic vascular ultrasound testing in a dedicated lab. The role supports diagnosis with timely reports and adheres to established protocols while ensuring patient comfort.

Requirements include a CAAPHEP vascular sonography program graduate or equivalent with RVT/RVS credentials, BLS, and preferred experience in ABI and Doppler studies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP vascular sonography program or comparable experience with RVT/RVS credentials required.
• New grads must obtain RVT or RVS credential within one year of hire.
• BLS certification required.
• Competencies in: ABI, Arterial Doppler, Carotid, Aortic, Saphenous vein mapping, Exercise ABI, DVT upper/lower extremity.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician's orders and reviews patient record prior to exam.
• Performs basic vascular ultrasound testing according to accredited vascular laboratory protocols, ensures patient comfort throughout exam.
• Recognizes and documents abnormal pathologies according to imaging protocol's as necessary to support diagnosis.
• Provides physician detailed preliminary report.
• Enters measurement data and final report into cardiovascular reporting system
• Ensures equipment is cleaned and functioning in accordance with manufactures guidelines.
• Enters charges into electronic medical record.

Education

CAAHEP vascular sonography program

RVT or RVS credential

BLS certification

ABI and arterial Doppler experience

Carotid and aortic imaging (no intervention)

DVT upper/lower extremity mapping
