Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a full-time Vascular Laboratory Sonographer in North Carolina. The role requires graduation from a CAAHEP vascular sonography program or equivalent RVT/RVS credentials, with new grads expected to obtain certification within one year.

BLS is required, and the candidate will perform vascular ultrasound exams in a 40-hour week, 8–5, Mon–Fri with rotating weekends/holidays and no on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CAAHEP vascular sonography program or comparable experience with RVT or RVS credentials required.
• New graduates must obtain RVT or RVS credential within one year of hire.
• BLS certification required.
• Competencies in: ABI, Arterial Doppler (no intervention), Carotid (no intervention), Aortic (no intervention), Saphenous vein mapping, Exercise ABI, DVT Upper/Lower extremity required.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician's orders and reviews patient record prior to exam.
• Performs basic vascular ultrasound testing according to accredited vascular laboratory protocols, ensures patient comfort throughout exam.
• Recognizes and documents abnormal pathologies according to imaging protocol's as necessary to support diagnosis.
• Provides physician detailed preliminary report.
• Enters measurement data and final report into cardiovascular reporting system
• Ensures equipment is cleaned and functioning in accordance with manufacturers guidelines.
• Enters charges into electronic medical records.
