Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring full-time Registered Nurses for the Vascular Stepdown Intermediate Care Unit (9K). The unit specializes in vascular surgery telemetry and transplant care, with a 24-bed IMC and a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.

New graduate RNs are welcome; starting pay for new grads is $36.00/hour. The role supports orientation through an 11-week Transition to Practice program and a 6-month residency, with opportunities for advancement and comprehensive

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in registered nursing.
• Current RN license in VA or eligible for licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• Prior RN experience in acute care, intermediate care, cardiac, stroke, or med/surg preferred.
• New graduates welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process.
• Perform assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion and evaluation.
• Collaborate with care teams to deliver high-acuity vascular stepdown and telemetry care.
• Support patients and families with education and discharge planning.
