Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Towson, MD is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with vascular access expertise to provide care and maintenance of vascular access devices. The role requires an Associate Degree in Nursing, 3 years RN experience with peripheral IV placement, and MD licensure with BLS.

You will perform IV starts, catheter placements, teach staff, and collaborate with physicians to ensure optimal patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing is required.
• Three years RN experience with peripheral IV placement.
• Current Maryland RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients for vascular access needs based on diagnosis and medical history.
• Place peripheral IVs and mid-to-long-term lines; troubleshoot VADs.
• Coordinate with physicians on orders for vascular access.
• Provide patient teaching on PICC line care and maintenance.
• Document procedures and outcomes in medical records.
• Educate staff 1:1 on vascular access assessment and care.
