GBMC HealthCare in Towson, MD seeks a Registered Nurse with vascular access expertise to provide vascular access care and evaluation for selected patients. The role requires an Associate Degree in Nursing and three years of RN experience with peripheral IV placement.

Qualifications

• Three years of RN experience with demonstrated competence in placement of peripheral IVs.
• Must be eligible for Maryland RN license and hold current BLS certification.
• PICC insertion competency required initially and annually thereafter.

Responsabilités

• Assess patients to determine vascular access needs based on diagnosis, meds, history and length of stay.
• Place peripheral IVs and mid-/long-term VADs and document procedures.
• Troubleshoot VAD complications and assist staff as needed.
• Provide patient teaching on PICC line care and maintenance.
