Job summary

Durham Academy is seeking a part-time Varsity Track & Field Assistant Coach with a specialization in high jump, long jump, and triple jump. The role involves teaching and mentoring up to 15 high school athletes and reporting to the Head Coaches.

Responsibilities include teaching mechanics and technique, developing workouts for varying skill levels, and coordinating with fellow coaches, parents, and student-athletes.

Varsity Track and Field Assistant Coach- Jumps

Seasonal Durham, NC, US

Durham Academy is accepting applications for part-time varsity assistant track coach with a specialization in the following jumping events: high jump, long jump, and triple jump.

Position : Teaching, coaching, and mentoring up to 15 high school athletes participating in any of the jumping events (i.e. high jump, long jump, and/or triple jump). Will report directly to the Head Coaches.

Qualifications:

• Experience competing in any or all of the jumping events at the high school, collegiate, or professional level.
• Can teach basic, intermediate, and advanced skills regarding mechanics, technique, and form.
• Must be able to develop and implement workouts appropriate for varying skill levels.
• Ability to communicate and work well with other coaches, parents, and student-athletes.
• Enjoy helping student-athletes reach their potential.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Attend practices and meets .

When:

• Practice times Monday through Friday, 3:30 to 5:30
• No weekend responsibilities other than attending the Conference and State Meet at the end of the season
