Job summary

Lancaster Catholic High School is seeking a Varsity Head Coach for the Baseball program to lead a faith-centered, competitive team. This role focuses on athletic excellence, personal growth, and academic success within a Catholic educational setting.

The coach will plan practices, develop players, and manage scheduling while upholding school values and NFHS/PIAA rules. Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills are essential for building a sustainable program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience coaching at the high school or collegiate level.
• Knowledge of PIAA and NFHS baseball rules and regulations.
• Faith commitment: practicing Catholic preferred.
• Leadership and communication: strong organizational, mentoring, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the varsity baseball program, including practice planning, game preparation, player development, scheduling coordination, and program organization.
• Foster a team culture rooted in Catholic values, emphasizing integrity, sportsmanship, discipline, respect, teamwork, humility, and service.
• Teach and develop baseball fundamentals, position-specific skills, game strategy, and leadership qualities in student-athletes.
• Maintain clear, professional communication with student-athletes, parents, assistant coaches, school administration, and other program stakeholders.
• Support the long-term growth of the baseball program by building relationships with middle school athletes, feeder programs, and the local baseball community.
• Encourage and monitor the academic progress and personal development of student-athletes, reinforcing the balance between academics, athletics, faith, and family.
• Recruit, mentor, and collaborate with assistant and sub-varsity coaches to ensure consistency in coaching philosophy and player development throughout the program.
• Ensure adherence to PIAA regulations, Lancaster Catholic High School policies, and best practices for athlete safety, conditioning, injury prevention, and sportsmanship.
