Job summary

The Staffing People is seeking a Transit Van Driver to transport passengers safely along scheduled routes in Columbus, GA. The driver will ensure passenger safety, follow DOT guidelines, perform vehicle inspections, and maintain routine records.

Responsibilities include picking up passengers on dispatched requests, operating the van on time, fueling and cleaning at end of shifts, reporting vehicle issues, and adhering to safety policies. Customer service and courteous conduct are essential.

  • Pick up passengers on dispatched request for transportation.
  • Conduct a pre-trip and post-trip inspection of the vehicle each day.
  • Check for vehicle damages, monitor oil change requirements, etc.
  • Report any issues with the vehicle to the supervisor.
  • Complete maintenance requests.
  • Fuel van at the end of each shift and throughout the day as necessary.
  • Clean the inside of the van at the end of each daily operation.
  • Behave in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Treat others with respect.
  • Maintain all necessary records.
  • Follow all established safety policies and procedures.
  • Follow all DOT guidelines and rules of the road.

A transit van driver is a professional who is responsible for transporting passengers in a van. The driver typically follows a set route or schedule and may make multiple stops along the way to pick up or drop off passengers. Drivers will also be responsible for ensuring that passengers are secured in the van prior to continuing route.
