Job Description

A transit van driver is responsible for transporting passengers in a van following a pre-determined route. Drivers must ensure passengers are secured before continuing the route.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide safe and efficient transportation for passengers.
• Operate the van on scheduled times, following a pre-determined route.
• Pick up passengers on dispatched requests for transportation.
• Operate the van on scheduled activities.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspection of the vehicle each day.
• Check for vehicle damages, monitor oil change requirements, etc.
• Report any issues with the vehicle to the supervisor.
• Complete maintenance requests.
• Fuel van at the end of each shift and throughout the day as necessary.
• Clean the inside of the van at the end of each daily operation.
• Behave in a courteous and respectful manner.
• Maintain all necessary records.
• Follow all established safety policies and procedures.
• Follow all DOT guidelines and rules of the road.
• All other duties as assigned.
