Job summary

Orchard Hill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Towson, MD is seeking a part-time Van Driver. You will transport residents safely to appointments, assist in and out of the vehicle, and maintain a clean, reliable shuttle.

Requires a valid driver's license, 1 year of patient transport experience, and ability to interact compassionately with residents and families. Guided by Passion, Respect, and Excellence, the team provides tuition reimbursement, benefits, and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver’s license.
• Must have a clean driving record and demonstrate safe driving practices.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience transporting patients to and from medical appointments.
• Ability to interact professionally and compassionately with residents, families, staff, and the public.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Strong desire to work with and support the elderly population.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments in facility vehicles.
• Assist residents in and out of the vehicle while ensuring safety.
• Maintain a clean, safe vehicle in accordance with safety standards.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and facility policies.
• Conduct routine vehicle checks and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Maintain timely transportation schedules and communicate delays or concerns to staff.
• Provide courteous and respectful interaction with residents, families, staff, and providers.
• Ensure resident safety and well-being during all phases of transport.

Responsibilities for Van Driver:

• Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments and approved destinations in facility vehicles.
• Assist residents in and out of the vehicle as needed while ensuring safety and comfort.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and operational vehicle in accordance with facility and safety standards.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and facility transportation policies.
• Conduct routine vehicle checks and promptly report any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Maintain timely transportation schedules and communicate any delays or concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Provide courteous and respectful interaction with residents, families, staff, and medical providers.
• Ensure resident safety and well-being during all phases of transport.
