Job summary

Orchard Hill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a part-time Van Driver to transport residents to appointments in facility vehicles with safety and courtesy. The role emphasizes assisting residents in and out of the vehicle and maintaining vehicle readiness according to safety standards.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of patient-transport experience, a valid license with a clean record, and a demeanor that supports dignity and compassionate care for elderly residents.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience transporting patients to appointments.
• Ability to interact professionally and compassionately with residents, families, staff, and the public.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments in facility vehicles.
• Assist residents in and out of the vehicle, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and operational vehicle per safety standards.
• Follow traffic laws and facility transportation policies.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain timely transportation schedules and communicate delays.

$21/hour (all inclusive)

Responsibilities for Van Driver

• Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments and approved destinations in facility vehicles.
• Assist residents in and out of the vehicle as needed while ensuring safety and comfort.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and operational vehicle in accordance with facility and safety standards.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and facility transportation policies.
• Conduct routine vehicle checks and promptly report any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Maintain timely transportation schedules and communicate any delays or concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Provide courteous and respectful interaction with residents, families, staff, and medical providers.
• Ensure resident safety and well-being during all phases of transport.

Qualifications for Van Driver

• Must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license.
• Must have a clean driving record and demonstrate safe driving practices.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience transporting patients to and from medical appointments required.
• Ability to interact professionally and compassionately with residents, families, staff, and the public.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Strong desire to work with and support the elderly population.
