Job summary

Ferguson is seeking a Valve Technician in New York. The role involves assembling automated valve packages, troubleshooting, and traveling up to 25-40% for field service work at Ferguson locations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assemble automated valve packages following SOPs.
• Maintain a safe, organized workspace during assembly, testing, and storage.
• Set up, use, and maintain tools and equipment in the automation center.
• Interact courteously with inside/outside sales, management, and warehouse staff.
• Troubleshoot automated packages in house and in the field to perform repairs.
• Assist with developing automated valve sales training program.
• Perform functional automated valve testing and record data.
• Travel up to 25-40% for field service projects and overnight stays.
• May perform driver duties as needed.

Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a Valve Technician. Shift: Monday thru Friday 8am to 5pm

Pay: Starting at $22 per hr, can pay higher based on experience

Responsibilities

As a Valve Technician, you will be responsible for the following, including, but not limited to:

• Responsible for assembly of all automated packages
• Follow all established standard operating procedures for valve automation including maintaining a safe and organized workspace and observing necessary safety precautions during assembly, testing, storage, and transfer of product
• Follow all proper procedures for set up, use and maintenance of tools, and equipment in the automation center
• Courteous interaction and communication with inside and outside sales, management, and warehouse personnel
• Professional interaction with customers when addressing questions and concerns about automated packages
• Troubleshoot automated packages, in house and in the field, to perform necessary work and repairs
• Assist with developing automated valve sales training program
• Perform functional automated valve testing, record, and store data
• Work closely with inspectors to meet customer demands
• Willingness to travel up to 25-40% is required. Travel may include overnight stays for field service projects and support at other Ferguson locations
• May be responsible for providing driver duties and responsibilities

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• 3 to 5 years experience is preferred but not required
• Safety release Valve, other valve & actuator industrial experience highly preferred
• Mustbeat least21 yearsof age.
• Validstate issuedlicense isrequired.
• Follow all DOT standards and regulations
• Must currently have,acquire, and/ormaintaina valid DOT Medical cardin order tomeet driver requirements.
• Basic knowledge of computers
• Ability to read and understand customer technical data and schematics
• Ability to multi-task and meet order deadlines
• Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control
• Be goal oriented, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines, build relationships, and enjoy a team atmosphere
• Possess a positive attitude
• Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
• A self-motivator and have an ambition to succeed
• Enthusiastic, courteous, and articulate

Pay Range:

$16.53 - $29.22

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
