Job summary

Ferguson Enterprises, LLC. is a leading plumbing supplies distributor in the U.S., with a long history dating back to 1953. The Valve Technician will assemble automated packages, follow SOPs, interact with sales and customers, and troubleshoot field issues while supporting training efforts.

The role requires willingness to travel up to 25%, a valid DOT Medical card, and the ability to read schematics. Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:30pm, pay starts at $23/hour and may be higher based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Valid state driver license required.
  • Must meet DOT standards and regulations.
  • Must maintain a valid DOT Medical card for driving duties.
  • 3–5 years experience preferred but not required.
  • Valve & actuator experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble automated packages following SOPs and safety guidelines.
  • Interact with inside/outside sales, management, and warehouse personnel.
  • Troubleshoot automated packages in-house and in the field.
  • Assist in developing automated valve sales training.
  • Record and store functional testing data for valves.
  • Travel up to 25% for field service projects.

Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a Valve Technician. If you have a love of meeting people and providing great customer service, coupled with an interest in contributing directly to the bottom line of a multi-billion-dollar organization, this is the position for you

Shift & Pay

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm

Pay: Starts at $23 per hour and could be more based on experience

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for assembly of all automated package
  • Follow all established standard operating procedures for valve automation including maintaining a safe and organized workspace and observing necessary safety precautions during assembly, testing, storage, and transfer of product
  • Follow all proper procedures for set up, use and maintenance of tools, and equipment in the automation center
  • Courteous interaction and communication with inside and outside sales, management, and warehouse personnel
  • Professional interaction with customers when addressing questions and concerns about automated packages
  • Troubleshoot automated packages, in house and in the field, to perform necessary work and repairs
  • Assist with developing automated valve sales training program
  • Perform functional automated valve testing, record, and store data
  • Work closely with inspectors to meet customer demands
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% is required. Travel may include overnight stays for field service projects and support at other Ferguson locations
  • May be responsible for providing driver duties and responsibilities
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid state issued license is required.
  • Follow all DOT standards and regulations
  • Must currently have, acquire, and/or maintain a valid DOT Medical card in order to meet driver requirements.
  • 3 to 5 years experience is preferred but not required
  • Valve & actuator industrial experience highly preferred
  • Basic knowledge of computers
  • Ability to read and understand customer technical data and schematics
  • Ability to multi-task and meet order deadlines
  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control
  • Be goal oriented, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines, build relationships, and enjoy a team atmosphere
  • Possess a positive attitude
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • A self-motivator and have an ambition to succeed
  • Enthusiastic, courteous, and articulate
  • Ability to learn quickly

Pay Range & Incentives
  • $15.67 - $27.68
  • Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
  • This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
  • Ferguson complies with all wage regulations. The starting wage may be higher in certain locations based on local or state wage requirements.
