Job summary

Elevate Human Capital is seeking an Entry Level Valve Technician I for a client in the south Houston, TX area. The role involves inspecting, repairing, testing, and maintaining industrial valves to ensure safe operation in refineries, chemical plants, power facilities.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, with 0–1 year of valve experience; technical/vocational maintenance training is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred.
• 0–1 year of experience working with industrial valves (plant or shop environment).
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, industrial valves, and valve components.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair a wide range of valves including gate, globe, check, ball, butterfly, safety relief, and control valves.
• Disassemble valves for cleaning, machining, or part replacement.
• Replace seals, seats, stems, gaskets, O-rings, packing, and other internal components.
• Perform valve calibration and set pressure adjustments (for relief/safety valves).
• Reassemble and test valves using hydraulic or pneumatic test stands.
• Identify wear, corrosion, leaks, or mechanical deficiencies and determine corrective actions.
• Document repair findings, parts used, test results, and certifications.
• Interpret P&IDs, isometrics, valve datasheets, and technical manuals.
• Work with other technicians, inspectors, and engineers during turnarounds or shutdowns.
• Follow all safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and facility procedures.
