Job summary

Emerson in Mansfield, MA is seeking a frontline supervisor to lead the Valve Assembly Department. You will supervise union hourly staff, manage day-to-day operations to maximize production, and drive safety, quality, and cost improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, prior supervisory experience in manufacturing, and strong leadership. Oracle experience and MS Office skills are a plus; sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• MS Office skills and data literacy are preferred.
• Legal Authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

Responsibilities

• Promote Safety culture and ensure a safe, productive work environment.
• Develop daily work schedules and assign staff to department areas.
• Maintain clear, legible documentation (test/paint reports, etc.).
• Close out operational steps on routings and ensure compliance.
• Oversee training and maintain employee qualifications; identify gaps.
• Develop best practices and document tribal knowledge.
• Direct responsibilities across valve assembly, sand blast, paint, and testing areas.
• Support union contract adherence and coordinate with other supervisors.
• Assist in equipment and staffing decisions to sustain long-term business levels.
• Lead problem solving for valve assembly issues and related departments.
