Job summary

Emerson in Sandusky, MI is seeking an Assembly Operator to assemble basic valves and related products from supplied components per customer specifications. Follow blueprints and SOPs, test and assemble using hand and power tools to meet tolerances and product specs.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma/GED (or 2 years of related experience), can read BOMs, and work well in a fast-paced environment. No sponsorship provided; teamwork and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or 2 years of experience.
• No experience required with high school diploma/GED; 1 year of experience is preferred.
• Ability to produce a quality part at a productive rate.
• Ability to use basic hand tools, as well as electrical pneumatics test fixtures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Extremely reliable and dependable, with strong teamwork.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided

Responsibilities

• General assembly processing procedures according to blueprint and SOP standards.
• Basic blueprint reading and understanding of BOM’s and Routers.
• Tests and calibrates components and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications.
• Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble product according to product specifications.
• Identifies product that fail tests or tolerance levels and may repair as necessary.
• Perform changeover of tools, fixtures and test setups.
• Reports to Assembly Supervisor and has contact with internal customers and co-workers.
• Observe established safe working, housekeeping procedures and promptly correct and / or notify supervisor
• All supplemental duties, responsibilities, or non-essential requirements as assigned.
