Job summary

ASC Engineered Solutions in Columbia, PA seeks a Value Stream Manager to lead one of the machine shop value streams (Gruvlok or Threaded Fittings) and drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements.

You will manage a cross-functional team, implement Lean initiatives, and develop roadmaps to align operations with growth objectives while partnering with planning, engineering, and quality to enhance overall product performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field.
• 7+ years manufacturing leadership experience in machining/industrial environments.
• Proven experience leading teams of 50+ employees in production.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
• Deep knowledge of Lean principles, continuous improvement, material flow, and supply chain operations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Experience monitoring KPIs related to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• ERP/MRP system experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-functional team of supervisors, engineers, and operators within the assigned value stream.
• Build and sustain a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to team members.
• Own value stream performance and ensure achievement of KPIs including safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and lead time.
• Collaborate with planning, scheduling, materials, and supply chain teams for on-time material flow and delivery.
• Lead Lean initiatives (5S, Kaizen, SMED, standard work, visual management, waste reduction).
• Develop and execute value stream roadmaps aligned with growth objectives.
• Identify opportunities for capital investment, automation, and process improvements.
• Partner with engineering and quality to resolve recurring issues and improve first-pass yield.
• Track and report daily/weekly/monthly performance metrics to leadership.
• Lead Gemba walks and value stream reviews to monitor performance and remove obstacles.
