Job summary

Moog Inc. in Blacksburg, VA, seeks a Machine Shop Value Stream Manager to provide strategic leadership for a critical manufacturing operation supporting Space and Defense.

You will drive operational excellence, ensure safe, efficient production, and exceed customer expectations. The role leads lean initiatives, coaches leaders, manages budgets and resources, and collaborates with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to align priorities with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, manufacturing, or business discipline.
• 7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, operations, or a technical environment.
• 7 years of direct supervision/leadership experience.
• Experience leading Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, Kaizen, and waste reduction initiatives.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance of the Machine Shop Value Stream.
• Develop and execute strategies to improve productivity and efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement through Lean principles and waste elimination.
• Coach and develop leaders and employees to build a high-performing team.
• Manage resources, budgets, staffing plans, and capital investments.
• Oversee capacity planning and workflow to meet schedules and commitments.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Advanced Manufacturing to improve processes.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align priorities with business objectives.
• Support modernization and long-term growth of the machine shop.
