Job summary

Generac Power Systems is seeking a Value Stream Director to provide strategic leadership and oversight of a multi-shift value stream, potentially across locations. The role focuses on implementing the Generac Manufacturing System to drive operational excellence, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

The incumbent partners across sites and corporate functions, develops annual CAPEX and operating budgets, and uses financial data to assess performance, identify opportunities, and communicate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent)
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations and/or lean management
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain (preferred)
• 5+ years hands-on Lean implementation experience
• Lean, Operations, or Supply Chain certifications
• Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems
• Demonstrated expertise in flow, Kanban, and PFEP methodologies
• Proven experience leading diverse, cross-functional teams

• Lead daily operations across the value stream, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives by driving product flow and workload leveling
• Establish and sustain a culture focused on problem-solving and empowerment
• Deploy standardized work and drive adherence to process discipline

• Design and direct the functional area with clear strategic objectives
• Coach and develop high-performing teams with performance management
• Develop long-range staffing strategies to support growth
