Job summary

Scalar is seeking a Principal to join its Valuation Services Group, focusing on litigation support and shareholder disputes. You will lead complex valuation engagements, serve as a trusted advisor to attorneys and clients, and manage teams across multiple matters.

This role suits individuals with deep dispute-related valuation experience and a proven ability to lead engagements, develop talent, and operate in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in valuation, litigation support, or economic consulting.
• Demonstrated experience in shareholder disputes and valuation for litigation.
• Strong understanding of valuation theory and methodologies in litigation contexts.
• Experience preparing expert reports and supporting deposition/trial processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee valuation and damages engagements related to litigation and shareholder disputes.
• Serve as primary contact for attorneys, clients, and stakeholders, providing guidance.
• Develop and defend valuation analyses using DCF, market approaches, and other methods.
• Perform economic damages analyses, including lost profits and unjust enrichment.
• Prepare and review expert and rebuttal reports and related deliverables.
• Support deposition and trial preparation, including expert testimony strategy.
• Manage engagement teams, delegating work and ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables.
• Oversee multiple engagements simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Provide mentorship and professional development to junior team members.
• Assist in business development, building relationships with law firms.
• Contribute to internal methodologies and defensible frameworks for litigation analyses.
