Job description

We are working with a well-established global investment management firm that specializes in targeting traditional and non-traditional sources of alpha by employing multiple absolute return strategies. They are actively seeking a Valuations Analyst to join their team and report to the Valuations Controller. The ideal candidate has experience with pricing, P&L, and valuations within hedge funds. This is a fantastic ongoing contract opportunity, and we are looking to fill the position as quickly as possible.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with mid-day and end-of-day pricing processes by compiling prices from various sources, uploading them into the accounting system, and distributing them.
  2. Maintain an ongoing tracker of simple and complex OTC options priced via broker statements or models.
  3. Locate options in broker statements and provide third parties with option identifiers.
  4. Monitor option prices continuously and review broker-quoted option prices at month-end.
  5. Follow up on stale prices with Administrative, IT, and Pricing vendors to resolve issues.
  6. Assist with end-of-day P&L Flash reports distributed firmwide.
  7. Compile broker quotes for convertible bonds on the 1st and 2nd business days of each month.
  8. Assist in preparing the monthly Valuation Committee package.
  9. Address ad hoc pricing questions from portfolio managers.
Qualifications:
  1. Valuation experience (1-3 years preferred)
  2. Educational background in Math, Finance, or Accounting
