Validation Technician

Job summary

ADB SAFEGATE is seeking a Validation Technician to validate electrical/optical/mechanical/thermal designs against applicable standards for new and existing light and power products. You will execute test plans, inspect designs with in-house equipment and external labs, calibrate tools, and participate in certifications.

You will build knowledge of global production processes and cooperate with suppliers, universities and other departments to drive improvements and align with FAA/IEC/DIN

Qualifications

• High school diploma, or a Bachelor's degree in a technical field with at least 2 year of relevant working experience.
• Knowledge of electrical/electronic circuits
• Knowledge of materials
• Experience with measurement tools (oscilloscope, power analyzer, spectrum analyzer, dimensional & hardness, thermocouples,...)
• Basic knowledge of relevant international and national standards (IEC, DIN, ...) is a plus
• Insight in modern production processes related to our products (Aluminum & plastic castings, PCB boards, transformers, cables & connectors) is a plus
• MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, ..)
• Experience with Confluence & JIRA is a plus

Responsibilities

• Cooperating during the design phase and provide feedback on design strengths/weak points
• Executing test plans and test cases for validation of new designs or changes to designs
• Inspecting and validating designs using in-house equipment and external laboratories; checking tolerances for production and system integration testing
• Taking care of calibration of test equipment
• Participating in certification activities & tests
• Maintaining and operating the electrical labs
• Cooperating in complex field return investigations
• Building knowledge of business standards (FAA, ICAO, IEC) & improving these standards
• Providing technical support to other departments
• Prospecting new technologies and materials/components
• Continuously search for improvement of design and test tools
• Engaging with external suppliers/labs/universities
• Working in accordance with internal policies and procedures
• Evaluating competitor products in the AGL market

The Opportunity....

The Validation technician is responsible for validation of the electrical/optical/mechanical/thermal design against the relevant requirements & standards of new and existing light & power products.

You will make an impact by...

• Cooperating during the design phase and provide necessary feedback on strong / weak points of the design
• Executing test plans and test cases for validation of new designs or changes to designs
• Inspecting and validating designs using in-house equipment and external laboratories; checking for necessary tolerances in the design to allow easy production. This also includes system and product integration testing
• Taking care of calibration of test equipment
• Participating in certification activities & tests
• Maintaining and operating the electrical labs
• Cooperating in complex field return investigations
• Building up knowledge of business standards (FAA, ICAO, IEC, ...) & participate in activities to improve these business standards
• Providing technical support to other departments
• Prospecting new technologies and new materials / components
• Continuously search for improvement of design and test tools
• Taking part in external relations with innovative suppliers, subcontractors, universities, external laboratories and other business fields
• Working in accordance to internal administrative requirements, policies and procedures
• Evaluating competitor products, follow up new products in the AGL market
