Validation Engineer - Intermediate

Job Summary:

Our client in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking an Intermediate Validation Engineer for a contract role.

What You Will Do:

The Engine Validation Engineer will develop and execute validation plans for engine testing within a major vehicle program. Responsibilities include:

• Managing Bill of Materials (BOM) and overseeing its release into the management system.
• Coordinating engine build schedules and supporting engine assembly and testing activities.
• Maintaining build records and ensuring proper storage and disposition.
• Leading the development and execution of design and process validation tests, analyzing results, and reporting findings.
• Investigating validation issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
• Reporting testing progress to the Chief Engineer and updating related documentation.
• Organizing post-test analyses and ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of automotive processes such as DFMEA and DVP&R.
• Understanding of engine components and testing procedures.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Onsite presence required, 3-5 days per week.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree focusing on engine development, control systems, or calibration.
• Experience with CAN communication and engine validation plans.
• Over 5 years in engine design, development, or validation.
• Experience with engine teardown and rebuilds.
