Job summary

The State of Alaska, Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, Northern Region Valdez District, is seeking a Maintenance and Operations Superintendent. You will oversee the Valdez District Maintenance and Operations program, supervising 29 staff, managing roughly 397 lane miles, four airports, and four maintenance stations, while directing safety and environmental compliance.

• Oversee Valdez District Maintenance and Operations, supervising 29 staff and 397 lane miles of roadway, four airports, four maintenance stations and the district fleet.
• Manage annual operating budget (~$4.5M) and Capital Improvement Projects while ensuring compliance with state/federal requirements.
• Direct highway and airport maintenance activities; evaluate conditions and coordinate personnel/equipment needs.
• Serve as liaison with Planning, Design, and Construction to ensure projects support safe, efficient, and sustainable maintenance.
