Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. invites applicants for a 10-12 week Future Talent Program internship in our Vaccines and Advanced Biotechnologies Process R&D division.

Under a project mentor, you will perform lab-scale process development and scale-up studies, developing robust cell culture processes for vaccine production. You will gain hands-on experience in lab-scale fermentation or cell culture, in-process assays, and technology transfer while maintaining rigorous notes and safety.

Qualifications

• Must have ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with policies.
• Must have hands-on laboratory experience and strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Available to work full-time for 10-12 weeks starting May or June 2027.

Responsibilities

• Perform lab-scale process development/scale-up studies and develop scalable cell culture processes for vaccine production.
• Support lab-scale fermentation or cell culture, in-process assay support, and technology transfer to later stage groups.
• Contribute to pilot-scale campaigns for GMP manufacture of bulk clinical material and assist with campaign preparation and closeout.
