Job summary

MSD Malaysia is offering a Future Talent Program internship of 10–12 weeks in our Vaccines and Advanced Biotechnologies Process R&D division. You will perform benchwork to execute and optimize downstream bioprocesses, analyze results, and assist with technology transfer to manufacturing.

You will keep careful notes, follow required trainings, and maintain lab safety. The role begins in May or June 2027 and offers a hybrid work arrangement within the U.S.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be enrolled in a BS/BA program in Chemical/Biomedical/Biological Engineering, Bioengineering, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or related field.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team within a lab setting.
• Demonstrated self-motivation, adaptability, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to learn new techniques, multitask, keep accurate records, and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct benchwork to execute, optimize, and troubleshoot downstream process unit operations and basic analytical techniques.
• Design, analyze, and summarize process development experiments to understand purification bioprocesses.
• Scale-up processes to pilot scale and support tech transfer to manufacturing.
• Prepare and present experimental results and maintain careful laboratory notes.
