Merck & Co., Inc. in the United States is offering a Future Talent Program internship in the Infectious Diseases and Vaccines group. Interns will work on projects with scientists developing medicines and vaccines using cutting-edge technologies.

Candidates should be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in biology or related major and have lab experience in molecular biology, microbiology, or immunology, plus Microsoft Office skills. The program runs up to 12 weeks starting in late May to early June 2027.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in biology or related major.
• Candidates must have experience with laboratory techniques applicable to molecular biology, microbiology, immunology, or biochemistry such as cell culture, transfection, bacterial handling, ELISAs, PCR, protein analysis, or DNA/RNA manipulation.
• Candidates must have knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Candidates must be available to work in-person full-time for up to 12 weeks beginning in late May to early June of 2027.
• Preferred: experience with ELISPOT, flow cytometry, or immunostaining; or virology/bacterial genetics techniques.
• Preferred: experience with molecular biology software (DNASTAR) and/or graphing software (GraphPad Prism).

Responsibilities

• Work with scientists in the Infectious Diseases and Vaccines group on projects to develop medicines and vaccines.
• Participate in hands-on experiments and data collection during the internship.
• Assist in data analysis and interpretation to support research activities.
