Job summary

MSD Malaysia invites candidates for a 10-12 week internship in our Vaccines and Advanced Biotechnologies Process R&D division. Under a project mentor, you will perform bench experiments to optimize downstream processes, with scope to scale up and transfer to manufacturing.

You will document results and present them in a collaborative team setting. Requirements include enrollment in a BS/BA in a relevant engineering or biological sciences field and ability to work full-time for 10-12 weeks

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a BS/BA in Chemical/Biomedical/Biological Engineering, Bioengineering, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology or related field.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Self-motivation, adaptability and a positive attitude.
• Ability to learn new techniques and perform multiple tasks.
• Proven hands-on laboratory experience and good record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Conduct benchwork to execute, optimize and troubleshoot downstream process unit operations.
• Develop new principles, concepts and methods for process development and scale-up.
• Design, execute and analyze process development experiments to understand purification bioprocesses.
• Support GMP campaigns and analyze and present experimental results.
