The position is remote with occasional local veteran outreach events in Bakersfield, CA.

• Able to work independently in a remote setting.
• Local to Bakersfield area for occasional outreach events.
• Familiar with social media.

Responsibilities

• Develop and publish informational content explaining VA education benefits and veteran services for social media
• Respond to general veteran inquiries by providing resource links and referral guidance
• Assist in preparation and support of veteran outreach events
• Track engagement metrics and document frequently asked veteran questions
• Perform administrative tasks directly related to veteran benefits outreach

Work Mode: Remote (Primary) with occasional local in-person veteran outreach events

Job Location: Bakersfield, CA (Remote Eligible – Must be local for events)

Compensation: Paid through the VA Work-Study Allowance Program Hourly rate determined by Federal or California minimum wage (whichever is greater)

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be eligible for the VA Work-Study Allowance Program

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with GI Bill or VR&E
• Interest in veteran services or workforce development
