Job summary

The incumbent reports to the Clinic Lead and the Chief - Primary Care Services, with duties spanning patient care, teaching, and team collaboration. Qualifications

• Citizenship: U.S. citizen (non-citizens allowed only per VA policy)
• MD or DO degree from an approved medical school
• Current full and unrestricted medical/surgical license in a U.S. state/territory/DC
• Residency training approved by VA/ACGME/AOA for eligibility for board certification
• Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine preferred
• Proficiency in spoken and written English

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care for a panel of outpatients as assigned by NCHCS
• Evaluate and treat acute and chronic health problems in the clinic setting
• Perform histories and physical exams and document findings
• Prescribe medications and order routine labs/imaging/tests
• Provide education to patients and families as necessary
• Precept residents in the clinic setting and assist with training
