Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Northern California Health Care System seeks a Primary Care Supervisory Physician and Primary Care Assistant Chief to supervise the Primary Care PA. The PA covers clinical and administrative duties with concurrence of the Associate Chief of Staff.

The role includes implementing Lean principles, quality improvement, and coordinating with the Patient Aligned Care Team to provide comprehensive examinations, patient management, and referrals.

Responsibilities

• The major duties and responsibilities include: supervising and evaluating the Primary Care PA, covering clinical and administrative aspects with concurrence of the Associate Chief of Staff.
• Performs medical record reviews and clinical interviews, conducts medical assessments and evaluations, makes diagnoses and develops a comprehensive treatment plan including diagnostic testing, medication management, and referrals as appropriate.
• The PA will be assigned to a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) in an outpatient clinic.
• The PACT PA must meet all mandatory education requirements and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• The incumbent must navigate multiple software and mainframe systems and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
