Job summary

DirectShifts in the United States is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to conduct VA General Medicine examinations, document findings, and complete DBQs in accordance with VA guidelines.

The role emphasizes independent work within established clinical protocols, accurate reporting, HIPAA compliance, and collaboration with clinical and administrative teams. Flexible scheduling is offered, with full-time, part-time, or PRN opportunities.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted NP or PA license.
• Collaborative agreement with supervising physician where required by state law.
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while following established clinical protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct VA Compensation & Pension (C&P) General Medicine examinations.
• Review Veterans' medical history and supporting documentation prior to each evaluation.
• Perform comprehensive physical assessments.
• Complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) accurately and thoroughly.
• Prepare timely, objective, and detailed medical reports.
• Ensure compliance with VA guidelines, HIPAA, and all applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely completion of evaluations.
