Job summary

The Veterans Administration School Certifying Official (SCO) at NC State University manages the GI Bill education benefits lifecycle for eligible students, from admission through graduation, including Montgomery GI Bill and Post-9/11 benefits.

You will serve as the institutional knowledge resource on federal and state regulations, maintain NC State’s GI Bill processes, and act as a liaison with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to ensure compliant, timely benefits for students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Experience administering GI Bill education benefits.
• Familiarity with VA systems and Enrollment Manager or similar VA certification systems.
• Experience using PeopleSoft, Oracle, or a comparable student information system.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex policies and regulations in program administration.

Responsibilities

• Manage the GI Bill benefits lifecycle from admission to graduation.
• Maintain NC State’s GI Bill processes and data per VA requirements.
• Serve as institutional representative in communications with the VA regarding GI Bill benefits.
• Assist with New Student Orientation and University Commencement.
• Other duties as assigned.
