Job summary

Marcurius Multi-Mission Solutions in Clearwater, FL is seeking a detail‑oriented Technical Writer to support engineering on a six‑month, 1099 contract. You will translate complex technical inputs into clear, controlled documentation for unmanned systems, working closely with hardware, software, and test teams.

Responsibilities include creating ICDs and manuals, interviewing engineers, ensuring traceability to baselines, and coordinating reviews using SharePoint and standard templates.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of professional technical writing experience supporting engineering or complex technology projects.
• Experience documenting both hardware and software systems, including interfaces or integration-related content.
• Strong ability to interview engineers and write accurately for engineering audiences.
• Excellent editing, proofreading, document-structuring, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Experience with document management, revision control, and collaborative review workflows; working knowledge of SharePoint.
• Ability to work onsite in Clearwater, Florida for the duration of the engagement.

Responsibilities

• Develop, edit, and maintain ICDs, system and software descriptions, test plans and reports, operating and maintenance manuals, SOPs, and training materials.
• Interview engineers and subject matter experts to capture technical knowledge and resolve gaps in source material.
• Structure multidisciplinary hardware, software, and systems information for an engineering audience.
• Maintain documentation templates, writing standards, revision histories, and controlled files using approved tools, including SharePoint.
• Coordinate technical reviews and approvals with responsible engineers; track document status through release.
• Update documentation as designs, interfaces, configurations, and test results evolve with traceability to engineering baselines.
• Support internal reviews, program milestones, testing activities, and customer documentation deliverables.
• Handle proprietary, customer, and export-controlled information through authorized systems and in accordance with requirements.
